It’s that time of the year again!
Zine Fest Quickie
Hey Everyone, SF Zinefest was a blast and it was great to see friends, old and new. Special shout outs to Kimmy Phi, and Laurie of the Motor Mouth Press for keeping it light and easy! Thanks for coming back and more pictures coming soon!
Afterschool Afterlight
It’s been a long winter, if you know what I mean.
(Finding) work’s been tough, and amongst other hardships, I’ve been trying to stay share and to have an open mind. Sometimes it’s just hard to do so, when things aren’t really working out. It’s twice as hard to stay aware, and creative at the same [...]
Fast Break
Jamie invited me and Kimmy over for breakfast to pay us back for hosting her a couple weeks earlier. It was really tasty! Challah French Bread, fruit, muffins and more! Afterwards, we got to work: the gals worked on their sewing and I jumped on the computer to finish a design. Mission accomplished!
More pictures after [...]
Cupcakes!
My friend Liz ( of Cut Thread Press ) helped to make special cupcakes for KJ’s birthday party. Kimmy and I made a cupcake stand out of old records and CD jewel cases we got at the Depot. It turned out really cool. Her party turned out great, until the cop came down and told [...]
A New Day
I don’t believe that this blog has been very personal so far, as I’ve talked mostly about my art endeavers, and less about my internal wanderings. I think, that’s been telling of how I’ve been feeling lately. I’ve been a bit disconnected from how I’ve felt about life, and lost a bit of [...]
Sneakpeek: Colin and Carla's Wedding
I am humbled again.
This time, from a photographer’s best friend: natural light.
Well, after a crash and burn weekend, I’m grateful to be able to shoot an semi-outdoor wedding for a couple dear friends. Here’s a sample of Colin and Carla’s wedding. I just started picking through the pictures, and I figured I’d put a couple [...]
Snap Crackle Pop
I just finished shooting a wedding with a friend. I am really tired, a bit humbled, and looking forward to one more day of shooting. I hope to apply what I’ve learned yesterday, to tommorow.
There isn’t more after the jump, but more to come.
Here’s more on this past weekend. It is the first [...]
Photowalk: Mountain View Cemetery
Mountain View Cemetery is one of my favorite places in Oakland. You’d think: you’re morbid, a cemetery? But seriously, it’s a really cool place. It’s a mix of death, life, beauty, rich people in fancy graves, poor people in simple graves, flowers, gravestones, grass and trees. All that you could leave behind, and none that [...]
Apprenticeship at Painted Tongue
Yesterday, I began an apprenticeship at a letterpress shop in Oakland. The shop is called Painted Tongue Press. So far, it’s been a good experience. People are nice, and the apprenticeship is really structured, so I appreciate that. The commitment is once a week, for a whole year, so I’m going to use this space [...]
